Topic 2: Browsing Stratergies

Now, we move on to the next topic that is browsing strategies. For this topic, me are going to focus more on search engine that includes definition, examples and situation of search engine. First of all, I will explain to you about the definition of search engine.


Definition of Search Engine
Search engines are the program that search documents for specified keywords and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found. In addition, a search engine is really a general class of programs. However, the term is often used to specifically describe system that enable users to search for documents on the world wide web.


Examples of Search Engine

1. Google 
  • Google search is a web search engine owned by Google Inc. It is the most-used search engine on the world wide web and it receiving several hundred million queries each day through its various services.  
 2. Bing  
  •  Bing is a search engine that finds and organizes the answers you need so you can make faster, more informed decisions.
 3. Yahoo!
  •  Yahoo! Search is a web search directory owned by Yahoo! Inc. It was the second largest search directory on the web by query volume at 6.42% after its competitor Google at 85.35% and before Baidu at 3.67%. according to Net Applications.


In addition, each of the search engines uses a proprietary algorithm to create its indices such that ideally, only meaningful results are returned for each query. Next, we move to the situation.

Situation
Some of the groups of students in KPMIM have conducted a survey which is they did questionnaires on which are the most  search engine that students usually use in their daily life to search the information. As the result, most of the students prefer to use Google as their search engine because it fastest than others. We can see that, Google has its own specialist compare to other search engine. 


In conclusion, search is importance for user to search the information. Choose the best search engine in order to satisfy your needs. I hope with these information, you can get clear understanding about this. Thanks for reading. Feel free to comments. Thank you. :)

Google is definitely the best search engine out there for the substantial amount of information that it provides and they also have some upgrades that introduces a lot of apps...

all search engine display almost the same. depends on how fast its load, complicated interface makes searching goes dizzy. lol

Obviously Google. There is no other search engine that can compare to Google's level.
